Some soundbites from the week:

(After finding out from my wonderful pregnancy update emails that our little nugget has been, of late, compared to a carrot, banana, and spaghetti squash, I had this conversation with my friend Dave)
Dave: "Yeah, you should compare the size to junk food. It's about the size of a snickers bar."
Jenny: "See. Something much more understandable: 'your baby is roughly the size of a Dorito.'"

Colby: "My life would be perfect if my life was better."

Also, these girls are rocking my face off.

A little overdue, I know, but this is me at 20 weeks. It was also the day that I went to Target to register and was SO SICK. And I think I look it too. I am wearing this cute dress because until I went to Marquette and Target, I had no jeans that I could wear anymore. Not the case any longer, my friends! I even got some super-hip maternity skinny-jeans. I'm going to be the hippest pregnant lady you know! (You know, on the one day a week when I'm not wearing a giant t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt to work).

This week has been so eventful.

This past weekend was our biggest retreat of the year. It was really fun, and not as horribly difficult in the kitchen as I thought it was going to be at all. We had really fun guests at our house while the retreat was going on AND I got to spend a whole afternoon with Heather and Sam!

On Tuesday we took our day off and went to Eagle River for coffee, reading, grocery shopping, (and buying a really expensive baby dress from one of my favorite stores and I still will not tell Kyle how much it cost....)

Wednesday we had a camp rally (where we try to get people to register for camp) at one of my favorite churches and got to host their youth group for the evening. It was really fun and went really well.

Yesterday, however, I was BLINDSIDED by some terrible sickness. I had a HORRIBLE sore throat and for the entire day my arms and legs felt like Jell-o. I stayed on the couch all day, but it seemed as the day went on, the worse I felt. I finally went to bed and slept for 11 hours and woke up without a sore throat or Jell-o extremities... but now I have a man voice.

And today. We will work. But not too hard.

And tomorrow... I go to Marquette with Linnea to register at Target (and, obviously, buy things at Target and drink Starbuck's and do all the wonderful things I love to do in Marquette!)!!!! I am so excited!!!!

Last night I made Kyle keep his hand on my belly for a good half hour and he finally felt that little lady kick!!!!! .... and kick.... and flip.... and kick. The kid is nutso!

It's a ........

GIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLL!!!!

The doctor said that from what they can see in the ultrasound, she looks really healthy. She was going a little crazy again during the ultrasound and the doctor "warned" me that we have a really active baby. His direct quote was, "You might wanna go out and get the kid some running shoes." Perfect! They measured a bunch of parts of her body, including her femur, which measured really long, they said. I guess she'll be a tall one like her dad. Great. A house full of people towering over me, putting things in really high places where I can't reach them. AND an all-star middle hitter?! We shall see!

I think she has a pretty classic "Williams nose" in this picture. Is it too early for me to think that she looks really cute? I don't care. I already think it.

PS. I found out that I've actually only gained 15 lbs. Woohoo!!!

So. No joke. I ran across the parking lot and back to grab our camera this morning and when I got back into the office I was GASPING for air. And my legs have felt like jello all morning. 20 pounds suuuuuuuuure makes a big difference, I guess. I can't wait to lose it all again!
